Chris Davis Slotting Into Bench Role Moving Forward
4 years agoBaltimore Orioles first baseman/designated hitter Chris Davis was out of the starting lineup again Sunday against Washington, having pinch-hit and struck out in the ninth. With his numbers (.133/.188/.200) having plummeted through the early part of the 2020 campaign, Davis is moving out of a full-time gig, paving the way for Renato Nunez to see more time at first base. As if Davis’ lack of production was not incentive enough to look elsewhere in all season-long formats, the fact that he will no longer hold down everyday playing time makes for leaving him on the waiver wire a sound decision.
