4 years agoNew York Mets second baseman Brian Dozier was designated for assignment prior to Sunday’s contest against Philadelphia, paving the way for right-handed pitcher Franklyn Kilome to join the active roster. Dozier went just 2-for-15 with the Mets, producing a -6 OPS+ in his short tenure. New York had little use for the veteran with Robinson Cano returning from the injured list, in addition to Luis Guillorme’s breakout 2020 campaign that has resulted in him batting .458 through his first nine games. Until Dozier latches on somewhere that can assure him consistent playing time, he can remain on the waiver wire in all season-long leagues.--Jesse Borek
