4 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher J.A. Happ held the Red Sox to one run over 5.2 innings on Sunday. Happ’s performance was significantly less impressive under the hood, as the 37-year-old posted a 9.3% swinging-strike rate and a 40% hard-hit rate for the night. Happ’s performance looks even worse when considering that the Red Sox have posted the league’s fifth-worst swinging-strike rate (12.7%) so far this season and isn’t a particularly strong offensive team in general. With all of that in mind, Sunday’s strong results shouldn’t be looked at as Happ turning a corner with his 2020 performance, and he should remain on waivers in most fantasy leagues.--Sam Chinitz
