Pete Alonso Batting Sixth Monday For First Time In Career
4 years agoNew York Mets first baseman Pete Alonso has been dropped to the No. 6 spot in the batting order Monday against Miami for the first time in his career. Alonso had been hitting fifth, but with a .657 OPS in his last seven games, he will move further down the lineup card against Marlins right-hander Jordan Yamamoto. The starkest difference in 2020 for Alonso versus his production last season is that fastballs have thoroughly flummoxed him through the first four weeks; his .277 SLG is vastly below the .669 SLG that he delivered last year. Until Alonso begins to heat up, DFS owners can likely allocate their funds elsewhere, especially as he moves down in the order.
