Elvis Andrus Sits Monday For First Time This Season
4 years agoTexas Rangers shortstop Elvis Andrus is getting his first day off of the 2020 season Monday against San Diego and right-hander Zach Davies. Andrus has been in an offensive malaise to begin the year, compiling a .184/.244/.250 slash line with a 37 OPS+. Isiah Kiner-Falefa will shift over to short to cover for Andrus, who is presumably just getting the day off. Texas will likely continue to run Andrus out there on a daily basis, but having delivered an OPS of .675 and .707 over the past two years, respectively, owners can look elsewhere in season-long formats for production at the shortstop spot.
