4 years agoMinnesota Twins third baseman Josh Donaldson worked out Monday, taking ground balls and hitting in the batting cage. Donaldson is reportedly feeling better as he makes his way back from a calf ailment that has kept him out of the lineup since July 31. There has still been no timetable announced for when the slugger may get back in the mix, with Marwin Gonzalez figuring to remain the primary fill-in at the hot corner. Ildemaro Vargas has also been brought in as a possible backup, indicating that Donaldson may not be ready immediately as the team has been mum on when he could return to the lineup, likely weighing his long-term health as well.--Jesse Borek
