Jason Castro Out Of Lineup Tuesday, Battling Neck Ailment
4 years agoLos Angeles Angels catcher Jason Castro remains out of the lineup Tuesday against San Francisco and right-hander Trevor Cahill as he continues to battle neck stiffness. Manager Joe Maddon indicated that Castro’s ailment is “definitely improving,” which lends credence to the thought that he may be able to avoid a stint on the injured list. Max Stassi and Anthony Bemboom figure to continue holding down the catcher spot in Castro's absence. His bat is extremely valuable in season-long formats where catchers are required, as he has produced an .856 OPS through his first 12 games. His next chance to get back in the mix comes Wednesday against the Giants, who have not yet announced a starter for the contest.
