Mike McCarthy Views Michael Gallup As A No. 1 Receiver
4 years agoDallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Gallup has been a standout player to new head coach Mike McCarthy, who called the third-year player "a No. 1 receiver." McCarthy added that Gallup was one of the most explosive players he noticed when watching Cowboys film prior to the season. In 2019, Gallup caught 66 passes for over 1,100 yards and six touchdowns while becoming just the third Cowboy to record 1,000 yards in their second season. Gallup will have more competition for targets with the team using a first-round pick on CeeDee Lamb, but the trio of Gallup, Lamb and Amari Cooper should all have room to thrive in a Dallas offense that was second in the NFL in pass yards last season. Draft Gallup with confidence as a WR3.
