4 years agoOakland Athletics left-handed pitcher A.J. Puk is in line to throw a bullpen session Friday, the latest step in his rehab from a shoulder strain. After that, facing live batters will be his next step. The A’s have reiterated that if Puk rejoins the big league roster this season, it will be as a reliever in an attempt to lessen stress on his arm. Puk worked 10 games out of the bullpen last year, compiling a 3.18 ERA and striking out 13 batters in 11 ⅓ frames. Ranked as the club’s No. 2 prospect per MLB Pipeline, Puk maintains massive potential in keepers formats, but he has slim intrigue in most season-long leagues due to his projected role.--Jesse Borek
