4 years agoHouston Astros outfielder Michael Brantley (leg) will reportedly start in left field instead of playing DH for the team once he returns from his stint on the injured list. Brantley is likely to return from the IL close to as soon as he’s eligible on August 22, and although he’d DHed frequently prior to landing on the IL, manager Dusty Baker intends to allow the outfielder to start in left field for the rest of the season. With Brantley back in the lineup, Kyle Tucker and Josh Reddick probably split time at DH and in the outfield, and Brantley will look to build on his solid if somewhat underwhelming start to the season that saw him post a .286 batting average and a .821 OPS.--Sam Chinitz
