4 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Jacob deGrom went six innings allowing only four hits while striking out seven in the Mets' 5-3 win over Miami on Wednesday. Not surprisingly, deGrom (2-0) once again did not factor in the decision. deGrom had been scratched from his previous start due to neck tightness, while also having to deal with a blister on his pitching hand. He did not skip a beat in his return to the mound on Wednesday, throwing 91 pitches before giving way to the Mets' putrid bullpen. On the season, deGrom now boasts a 1.93 ERA, an 0.89 WHIP, and 35 strikeouts in 28 innings pitched. He remains an elite, must-start option in all formats and will face these same Marlins in another excellent matchup on Tuesday.--Nick Ritrivi - RotoBaller
