James Paxton Slated For MRI With Forearm/Elbow Discomfort
4 years agoNew York Yankees left-handed pitcher James Paxton will undergo an MRI following his start Thursday against Tampa Bay, after which he mentioned forearm and elbow discomfort in his pitching arm. Paxton’s velocity was noticeably down against the Rays, which may lend credence to the thought that he was pitching through an ailment. Having allowed three runs Thursday (on just one hit), Paxton has now not yielded more than three earned runs in any of his five starts this season. Any kind of stint on the injured list would be a blow to a New York squad that is currently dealing with a rash of ailments that has zapped much of its star power. Check back for an update on Paxton’s long-term viability, which largely depends on the results of his MRI.
