4 years agoThe Philadelphia Phillies have acquired relief pitcher Brandon Workman, relief pitcher Heath Hembree and cash considerations from the Boston Red Sox in exchange for relief pitcher Nick Pivetta and minor league pitcher Connor Seabold. The big piece here is Workman, who was 4-for-4 in save chances this season after putting up a strong 2019 where he recorded 16 saves with a 1.88 ERA and 13 K/9. The Phillies bullpen, on the other hand, has been a disaster with closer Hector Neris only converting two of five save chances. Manager Joe Girardi has been loyal to his closer thus far and Neris should still get the next save opportunity, but Workman will be in the mix and could take over the ninth for good if Neris falters again. For now, both should be held in fantasy until we see how Girardi plans on using his new bullpen.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
