Stephen Strasburg To Undergo Surgery, Miss Remainder Of 2020
4 years agoWashington Nationals right-handed pitcher Stephen Strasburg will undergo surgery to help alleviate the carpal tunnel syndrome that he has developed in his right wrist. The ailment will force him to miss the remainder of the 2020 season, with an eye toward being fully healthy for the 2021 year. Strasburg made just two starts this season, allowing eight hits and six runs in his five innings, showing the ill effects of what had initially been deemed a nerve issue in his pitching hand. Owners can safely drop Strasburg in season-long formats at this stage, while the Nationals figure to continue utilizing right-hander Erick Fedde as a fill-in.
