4 years agoPittsburgh Pirates shortstop Kevin Newman is not among the club’s starting nine Saturday against Milwaukee and right-hander Josh Lindblom. Erik Gonzalez will take over at short in his stead and bat leadoff, giving him some DFS appeal due to his low price tag. Newman had a nine-game hit streak come to an end Friday, having hit .417 in that stretch to help raise his offensive numbers back to a level of consideration. He is still primarily a deep season-long league option, with his next chance to get back in the lineup coming Sunday against Brewers right-hander Corbin Burnes.--Jesse Borek
