4 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher Mike Fiers allowed one-unearned run in six innings and earned his fourth win of the season Wednesday. Fiers struck out seven in the contest marking the first time this season he's struck out more than a batter-per-inning. On the season, Fiers averages just 5.11 K/9 which is among the lowest marks in the league. His lack of strikeouts limits his upside in fantasy so he needs to be exceptional at run-prevention to be worth starting. His 4.83 ERA isn't great, and it is not supported as his xFIP is over six.
