4 years agoKansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has made it cool to pick quarterbacks in the first round of fantasy drafts again. Even despite a gruesome dislocated knee last year, Mahomes enters the new season as a Super Bowl champion and arguably the top signal caller on the board. With all of his pass-catching weapons returning, Mahomes is an obvious must start in every season-long league, in addition to having considerable DFS appeal no matter his opponent. He’ll have an especially exploitable matchup to begin the year Sept. 10 when he faces a Texans Defense that he carved up for five touchdowns and 51 points during the postseason in 2019. There are few players in the entire league that boasts floors comparable to Mahomes, the highest-paid player in major American sports history.--Jesse Borek
