Robinson Cano Returns To Second Base For Game 1 Of DH
4 years agoNew York Mets second baseman/designated hitter Robinson Cano returns to the keystone for the first game of Saturday’s doubleheader against the Yankees. Cano has not manned the position in nearly two weeks, with the Mets opting to keep his hot bat in the lineup via the designated hitter spot. Batting .388 with a 1.057 OPS during the month of August, not playing the field with regularity appears not to have affected Cano’s production as he has actually moved up the ranking list. With Jeff McNeil not in the lineup for Game 1 -- but likely for Game 2 -- Cano doesn’t appear to have a solid chance of playing second for both legs of the DH.
