4 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies right-handed reliever David Robertson will not return to a big league mound this year after attempting to work his way back from Tommy John surgery. Robertson has been shut down from throwing for at least the next six weeks, extending his timetable beyond where the 2020 season is likely to take place. Philadelphia has a $12 million team option that they could enact upon the veteran for next year, although it remains uncertain whether they will choose to do so. Hector Neris and Brandon Workman are likely to see the remainder of save opportunities for the Phillies this season.--Jesse Borek
