4 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies outfielder Mickey Moniak will join the club’s alternate site group after having been added to the player pool Sunday. In order for a player to be dealt prior to the Trade Deadline or brought up to the Major League roster, they must first at least be at the club’s alternate training complex. Moniak was the No. 1 overall selection in the 2016 MLB Draft, but is yet to play above Double-A. He likely won’t make an impact for Philadelphia this season, having hit just .186 during 17 games in the Arizona Fall League last year.--Jesse Borek
