5 years agoNew York Yankees outfielder Aaron Hicks left the second game of Sunday’s doubleheader against the Mets due to an apparent injury. Hicks was checked on by the training staff during his at-bat in the fifth before immediately departing the game after drawing a walk. By collecting a hit and a walk prior to his exit, Hicks bumped his on-base percentage on the season up to .358 through his first 27 games. While the power metrics haven’t been there, Hicks has been a serviceable season-long option with his OPS+ sitting at 100 entering play Sunday. The Yankees’ outfield is already in tatters due to injuries to Aaron Judge (calf) and Giancarlo Stanton (hamstring) with Hicks’ next chance to return coming Monday against the Rays and right-hander Tyler Glasnow.--Jesse Borek
