Colorado Acquires Kevin Pillar From Boston
4 years agoOutfielder Kevin Pillar has been acquired by the Colorado Rockies just prior to Monday’s Trade Deadline in a deal with the Boston Red Sox. The Rockies gave up a player to be named later and international slot money to get the deal done, adding Pillar and his career-high 109 OPS+ to the outfield mix. Lauded as an excellent defender, Pillar will have plenty of ground to cover at Coors Field, but he also gets the added intrigue of moving to the game’s preeminent hitter’s park. Having delivered an .891 OPS against left-handed pitching this season, Pillar will be a near must-roster in DFS when facing lefties at Coors.
