4 years agoBoston Red Sox outfielder/designated hitter J.D. Martinez is not among the club’s starting nine for Monday’s contest versus the Braves and left-hander Max Fried. Martinez was hit on the hand by a pitch Sunday, and while x-rays have come back negative, it appears that he’ll get at least one day off due to the ailment. Bobby Dalbec, who homered in his big league debut, will hold down DH duties with Martinez’s next chance to return to the mix coming Tuesday against right-hander Ian Anderson.--Jesse Borek
