Gerrit Cole Struggles In Second Consecutive Start
4 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Gerrit Cole allowed four runs over five innings on Monday, giving him nine runs allowed over his past 10 innings. Whiffs weren’t an issue for Cole on Monday -- he generated 17 swinging-strikes over 103 pitches and struck out seven batters -- but Cole allowed 10 hard-hit balls. Home runs have been an issue for Cole all season, and that trend continued on Monday with the Rays collecting two home runs. Fantasy players should remain reasonably confident in Cole over the rest of the season, but his struggles are worth monitoring.
