Kerryon Johnson Opens 2020 As A Late-Round Upside Pick
4 years agoDetroit Lions running back Kerryon Johnson enjoyed a productive eight-game stint as a rookie last year, but he very quickly finds himself usurped as the full-time back in 2020. Johnson will cede way to D'Andre Swift, while also having to worry about the presence of Bo Scarbrough, which figures to limit his weekly fantasy appeal. Having found the endzone in four of the eight contests that he appeared in last year, Johnson does have some boom potential to his game, but not having been utilized as much of a pass catcher gives him a low floor, particularly in PPR formats. Still being selected inside of the top-35 running backs in most season-long drafts, owners will have to check expectations with Johnson at the door, but can be pleasantly surprised if he carves out a red zone role or vultures more carries from Swift than expected.
