4 years agoNew York Mets second baseman Robinson Cano's bounceback season continued on Tuesday when he went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and two runs scored in the Mets' 9-5 loss to Baltimore. Cano has homered in three straight games. He is now hitting .380 in 92 at-bats with a 1.088 OPS, seven home runs, and 18 RBI. Cano has been red-hot in this abbreviated season coming off an injury-riddled 2019 campaign. He is tied for the team lead in home runs with seven and has a chance to become the sixth qualified hitter aged 37 or older (over the last 100 years) to hit at least .360, though in an abbreviated season. Despite a log jam in the Mets' infield which includes J.D. Davis, Jeff McNeil, Amed Rosario, Andres Gimenez, and Luis Guillorme, the veteran Cano will most certainly remain a staple in the lineup. Whether positioned at second base or designated hitter, Cano will retain fantasy relevance for the remainder of this short season hitting regularly in the middle of the Mets' lineup.--Nick Ritrivi - RotoBaller
