4 years agoOakland Athletics left-handed pitcher Mike Minor is set to make his first start with his new club next Tuesday against Houston during a doubleheader. But he is also available out of relief Friday against San Diego. Minor’s most recent outing last Friday was his best of the season, holding the Dodgers scoreless across six frames. He sits at 0-5 with a 5.60 ERA in seven starts, but Minor, who possesses elite spin on his fastball, still isn’t yielding much average exit velocity (87.1 MPH), an indicator that things will eventually begin to break his way. After the start against Houston, if things break his way, he could face three consecutive average to below-average offenses, which gives him some upside appeal in season-long formats over the final few weeks.--Jesse Borek
