4 years agoLos Angeles Angels infielder David Fletcher has been placed on the 10-day injured list prior to Thursday’s contest against the Padres, with Taylor Ward being summoned from the club’s alternate site to take his place on the active roster. Fletcher has been battling a sore ankle since departing from Sunday’s game early due to the ailment. With Andrelton Simmons back in the mix, he’ll man the shortstop spot while Fletcher is on the IL, with Franklin Barreto also getting an extended look at the keystone. Batting .314 with 45 hits, Fletcher will have season-long appeal upon his return, particularly in roto formats where his on-base percentage (.377) also works in his favor.--Jesse Borek
