Mike Clevinger Takes Loss In Padres Debut
4 years agoSan Diego Padres starter Mike Clevinger took a loss Thursday against the Los Angeles Angels, tossing six frames of two-run ball. Making his Friars debut, Clevinger surrendered seven hits and a walk while striking out just two. Despite the quality start, the vaunted Padres offense suffered a three-hit shutout, spoiling Clevinger’s debut. Across six outings, the 25-year-old holds a 3.14 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 7.2 K/9. He’ll be a high-end SP2 in his scheduled start next Tuesday at home against the Colorado Rockies.
