4 years agoNew York Yankees pitcher Clarke Schmidt allowed two runs on three hits and a walk over 1.2 innings of relief against the Orioles on Friday. Schmidt generated only two whiffs (both from his slider), and the frequent contact allowed the Orioles to do their damage. Schmidt’s unclear role with the team means that he can be left on waivers in most leagues for now, but his impressive minor league performance (3.39 ERA, 10.4 K/9) and major league call-up should have him on the radar of fantasy players.--Sam Chinitz
