4 years agoHouston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve was placed on the 10-day injured list prior to Saturday’s doubleheader against the Angels. Altuve had not appeared since sustaining a right knee sprain during Thursday’s contest versus Texas, which forced him from the game early. Abraham Toro and Aledmys Diaz figure to hold down the keystone while Altuve is sidelined, with both having some short-term season-long upside. It’s been an extreme struggle at the dish in 2020 for Altuve by his standards, having slashed .224/.284/.322 through his first 35 games without an extra-base hit since Aug. 22. Fantasy managers are facing the prospect of allowing Altuve to land on the wire over the final three-plus weeks of the year due to his injury and lack of production.--Jesse Borek
