4 years agoThe Texas Rangers will be without right-handed pitchers Corey Kluber and Jose Leclerc for the rest of the season after it was confirmed Saturday that both will need more time to recover from injuries before returning to the hill. Kluber pitched all of one inning in 2020 after a blockbuster trade, hitting the IL due to a right teres muscle tear. Leclerc made two appearances before joining Kluber on the IL with the same injury. While Leclerc can be under team control through ‘24, Kluber will hit the free-agent market if Texas opts not to pick up his $18 million option. From a keepers perspective, Globe Life Field has proven to be primarily a pitcher’s park, so a departure would likely dampen his value ahead of next year.--Jesse Borek
