4 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Deivi Garcia is scheduled to start against the Blue Jays on Wednesday. Garcia has become the replacement for the injured James Paxton (elbow), and he’s had an uneven two starts so far with a resulting 3.38 ERA over 10.2 innings. The Blue Jays have been solid this season with a .755 OPS, but they’ve hit fairly well against curveballs (.316 xwOBA). Still, the Blue Jays have struggled against fastballs relative to the rest of the league (.354 xwOBA, ninth-worst in MLB) so Garcia should manage to hold the Blue Jays in check on Wednesday.--Sam Chinitz
