Adrian Peterson Signs With Detroit
4 years agoThe Detroit Lions have signed free-agent running back Adrian Peterson to a one-year deal. Peterson was released by the Washington Football Team earlier in the week but the veteran wasn't out of work for very long. The veteran RB reportedly stated, "They're giving me an opportunity to play. I know coach (Darrell) Bevell from my days in Minnesota." Peterson's addition to Detroit makes this a tricky backfield to navigate for fantasy gamers going forward. The veteran will probably see most of his work on first and second downs with Kerryon Johnson mixing in and rookie D'Andre Swift doing most of his work on passing downs. Peterson's presence in Detroit could be a result of injuries as Swift has missed most of the past month with a lower-body injury while Johnson himself has struggled to stay on the field over his two-year NFL career. All three running backs are low-end flex options for fantasy gamers drafting this weekend as there's very little clarity as to how the workload will be split. This is a situation best avoided in fantasy.
