4 years agoThe Chicago Cubs claimed outfielder Billy Hamilton on Monday after he was designated for assignment by the Mets on Friday. The Cubs are set with their outfield with Ian Happ, Kyle Schwarber, and Jason Heyward starting and Cameron Maybin (and, to a lesser extent, Jose Martinez) available off of the bench, so Hamilton is likely to be used almost exclusively as a pinch-runner. Hamilton can be left on waivers as a result, though his impressive base-stealing ability (59 stolen bases per 162 games for his major league career) makes him a potential DFS option if he finds his way into the Chicago lineup.--Sam Chinitz
