4 years agoWashington Nationals starter Max Scherzer scattered six hits across seven scoreless innings during Monday's 6-1 win over the Tampa Bay Rays. He struck out eight batters while issuing a single walk. It was a vintage performance from the 36-year-old, improving his record to 4-2 on the season. The veteran right-hander now owns a 3.40 ERA, 1.33 WHIP, and 69/17 K/BB rate through 50 1/3 innings this season. He is no longer an invincible force on the mound, but he's capable of performances like this at any given time. Scherzer remains an elite fantasy option heading into his next projected start against the Atlanta Braves.--Raymond Harrison - RotoBaller
