J.A. Happ Strikes Out 10 On Tuesday
4 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher J.A. Happ held the Blue Jays to two runs over 6 1/3 innings while striking out 10 on Tuesday. Happ now owns a 2.89 ERA with 19 strikeouts over his last three starts (18 2/3 innings), but his hot streak has come without a significant improvement in his xwOBA (.329 for the season) or his swinging-strike rate (9.7%). Even with 10 strikeouts on Tuesday, Happ's swinging-strike rate sat below 11%. As a result, fantasy players shouldn’t expect Happ’s hot streak to continue much longer, and he’s likely to post an ERA around or above 4.00 for the rest of the season.
