Mookie Betts Makes First Start Of Season At Second Base
4 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts is shifting into the infield for at least a night, as Betts will make his first start at the keystone since 2014 on Thursday against Arizona. A second baseman during his time in the Minor Leagues, Betts reportedly has pitched the idea of moving into the infield on occasion to manager Dave Roberts, with his request being granted Thursday. He’ll still hold down the leadoff spot in the batting order, with Enrique Hernandez shifting out to Betts’ usual spot in right field. While there’s little fantasy impact from a one-game appearance, should he see enough time there down the stretch to earn a second base designation in 2021, his stock would rise even further ahead of next year’s drafts.
