Garbage Time Helps Deshaun Watson Salvage Week 1
4 years agoFor much of Thursday's season-opening loss, it looked like Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson was on his way to a really rough day. But with a touchdown pass and run in the fourth quarter, Watson emerged from Houston's 34-20 loss with some solid numbers. He finished with 253 passing yards on 20-for-32 passing with a touchdown and an interception. He added six carries for 27 yards and a score, mostly avoiding the run game until late. It was not an encouraging game. Watson is still a fantasy QB1 and still is one of the highest-upside plays at the position, but we'd be lying if we said Thursday's game wasn't at least a little worrisome, mostly because it exposed the issues the team has at wide receiver.
