4 years agoKansas City Royals catcher Salvador Perez has been activated off of the injured list prior to Friday’s contest against the Pirates and left-hander Steven Brault. He will return to his duties behind the dish with Meibrys Viloria being sent down to the club’s alternate training site to make room on the roster. Prior to his stint on the IL due to vision-related issues, Perez was having the best offensive season of his career with a .511 SLG and 123 OPS+ in addition to his .359 xBA, which ranks among the game’s best. With the catcher position fraughtfully thin in 2020, Perez becomes a must-roster asset in all season-long formats upon his activation.--Jesse Borek
