4 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Gerrit Cole shut the Orioles out over seven innings on Friday, snapping a three-game losing streak for his fifth win of the season. Cole’s four-seamer was filthy as it generated 11 whiffs over 58 pitches, and his 24% swinging-strike rate for the game fueled his nine-strikeout performance. When the O’s did make contact, Cole kept them in check with only three hard-hit balls allowed (25% hard-hit rate).
