4 years agoNew Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees threw two touchdown passes in a Week 1 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, though it was by no means a good performance for the 41-year-old. He only threw for 160 yards and averaged a measly 5.3 yards per attempt, as he struggled to get the ball downfield throughout the contest. Brees wasn't happy about his performance, throwing out the words "pitiful" and "awful", though it's worth noting head coach Sean Payton took some of the blame as a play-caller. Game script also may have played a part in Brees' less-than-stellar performance. The good news is, a great matchup awaits in Week 2 against the Raiders, who just allowed 270 passing yards to Teddy Bridgewater.--Tim Capurso
