Mickey Moniak Makes First Major League Start Thursday
4 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies outfielder Mickey Moniak will make the first start of his big league career Thursday against the Mets and right-hander Seth Lugo. The No. 1 overall pick in the 2016 MLB Draft, Moniak is just 22 years old, and despite never having played above Double-A, has been added to the club for a late season playoff push. He will bat ninth Thursday, but his punt play pricing in DFS could give him some upside for fantasy managers needing to keep price tags low to spend elsewhere. It doesn’t appear as if Moniak will be an everyday staple of the lineup over the final week-plus, but he could make a case for a starting gig in 2021 if he performs well.
