4 years agoTexas Rangers outfielder Willie Calhoun is out of the starting nine for Thursday’s contest against Houston and left-hander Framber Valdez. Calhoun has gone 0-for-8 with three strikeouts since returning from the injured list, having produced just a .380 OPS in 20 games this season. Despite having mashed 21 homers in 83 contests during 2019, it appears that the 25-year-old has taken a significant step backwards in production, even with injuries hampering him this year. Calhoun’s next chance to rejoins the lineup comes Friday against the Angels, although his lack of production likely keeps him from being an appealing asset in any fantasy format.--Jesse Borek
