4 years agoSt. Louis Blues defenseman Alex Pietrangelo is set to become an unrestricted free agent once the free agency period begins on October 9 at noon, according to multiple reports. The 30-year-old has established himself as one of the elite defensemen in the National Hockey League with a career-high 16 goals scored during the 2019-20 season, following his contributions to help the Blues win their first Stanley Cup in franchise history during the 2018-19 season. Pietrangelo has spent his entire 12-year career with the Blues and has not ruled out re-signing with the team, but there will be plenty suitors for the former fourth overall draft selection after contract talks with the Blues broke down earlier in the week.
