4 years agoTampa Bay Lightning forward Steven Stamkos (lower body) is inching his way closer to returning to the lineup during the 2020 Stanley Cup Finals against the Dallas Stars, but the 30-year-old likely will not play in Game 2 on Monday night, Lightning head coach Jon Cooper said. Stamkos has been ruled unfit to play throughout the entirety of the Stanley Cup playoffs after sustaining a lower-body injury before training camp began in early July. Stamkos has resumed skating and has been participating in occasional optional practices and morning skates as he progresses in his recovery. The 30-year-old forward scored 29 goals to go along with 37 assists and 66 points through 57 games in the regular season. Stamkos will be a welcome addition to the Lightning lineup that lost in Game 1 and managed just one goal against Stars goaltender Anton Khudobin.--Denis Vondrus - RotoBaller
