Gerrit Cole Picks Up Third Straight Win
4 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Gerrit Cole ended his regular season on a high note with a seven-inning, one-run, seven-strikeout performance against the Blue Jays on Tuesday. Cole’s victory on Tuesday was his third in as many starts and his ninth consecutive start with at least seven strikeouts. Tuesday was also Cole’s 10th start (12 total starts) with at least one home run allowed this season, but that’s been the only major blemish on an otherwise fantastic campaign from Cole. Tuesday’s start brought Cole’s ERA down to 2.84 for the season, and his 26.5% K-BB% was elite once again. Fantasy managers should expect Cole to continue being an ace over the rest of the season and into the playoffs, even if his home run woes persist.
