Jeimer Candelario Departs Early With Back Tightness
4 years agoDetroit Tigers first/third baseman Jeimer Candelario was pulled from Thursday’s contest against Kansas City with lower back tightness and is officially tagged as day-to-day. Jorge Bonifacio entered the game in Candelario’s place, with Brandon Dixon shifting to first base in his place. Having gone 0-for-2 at the dish prior to his departure, Candelario’s average dipped to .297 during what has been a breakout campaign. With just one hit since Sept. 16, Candelario has fallen off as a season-long asset, but still possesses considerable DFS appeal due to his reasonable price tag. The Tigers’ offense could be exploitable over the final weekend for those targeting Royals pitching over the remainder of the regular season.
