4 years agoDetroit Tigers first/third baseman Jeimer Candelario (back) was placed on the 10-day injured list prior to Friday’s contest versus the Royals, ending his 2020 season. Candelario sustained a lower back strain during Thursday’s game, as he finished the year with career-highs across the board (.297 BA, .369 OBP, .503 SLG) despite a 1-for-23 finish. Brandon Dixon and Harold Castro are likely to hold down first base duties over the weekend, giving them some DFS appeal for those eyeing low-priced assets. Expect Candelario to remain an integral cog of the Detroit lineup heading into ‘21, with his breakout campaign having earned him draft-worthy consideration in all but the shallowest of season-long fantasy leagues.--Jesse Borek
