4 years agoHouston Astros right-handed pitcher Josh James (undisclosed) was placed on the injured list prior to Friday’s contest versus Texas with the club recalling righty Chase De Jong to take James’ place on the active roster. James has oscillated between starting and relieving over the past few seasons, with his numbers this year torpedoing any fantasy appeal that he had previously built up. Having yielded 14 runs in 17 ⅓ IP, James remains an elite strikeout asset (career 13.3 K/9), albeit one that has not yet consistently found a role in relief. The undisclosed nature of his ailment raises an eyebrow, so check back for an update as it pertains to James’ malady and what it could mean for Houston heading into the postseason.--Jesse Borek
